From the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities’ ticket price list (November 2024 edition) and its monument pages, read in October 2026. Opening hours from the Ministry’s ticketing site, egymonuments.com: from 06:00, last entry 17:00 in summer and 16:00 in winter and Ramadan. Egyptian citizens pay much lower prices on the same list.
On the East Bank, Karnak is EGP 600 (with its open-air museum) and Luxor Temple EGP 500, open until 20:00.
The three tombs on the standard ticket
The Valley of the Kings ticket covers three tombs, chosen from those open on the day: the open tombs rotate, so which three you see depends on the day. The tickets for Tutankhamun, Ramesses V and VI, and Seti I are sold separately, so add them before you queue. The best tombs in the Valley of the Kings helps you choose.
The Luxor Pass
If you will see most of Luxor’s sites in a few days, the Ministry’s Luxor Pass covers all its archaeological sites there for five days: $130 (or EUR 120) for the Standard pass, without the tombs of Nefertari and Seti I, and $250 (or EUR 220) for the Premium pass, with them; foreign students under 30 pay about half. It is sold at the ticket counters of Karnak and the Valley of the Kings, against a copy of your passport and a passport-sized photo (Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, pass list last updated January 2024).
For a single morning in the valley, the gate tickets you need cost less than a pass.
Photography
Egypt’s government allows photography for personal, non-commercial use free and without a permit, with phones and ordinary cameras; professional gear such as lighting needs a permit (Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities).

On the Luxor half days, the lowest price is usually without the entry fees; the option with tickets costs more. Guests on the West Bank half day advise choosing the option with tickets, or you pay by card at the window, and some wrote that guests without tickets kept the group waiting at the window. The Hurghada day trips mostly include them: Ranco Travel's day includes Tutankhamun’s tomb as well.
